چکیده

Although lithium (Li) and sodium (Na) metals can be selected as the promising anode materials for next-generation rechargeable batteries of high energy density, their practical applications are greatly restricted by uncontrollable dendrite growth. Herein, a platinum (Pt)–copper (Cu) alloy-coated Cu foam (Pt–Cu foam) is prepared then used substrate Li Na metal anodes. Owing to ultrarough morphology with three-dimensional porous structure quite large surface area well lithiophilicity sodiophilicity, both growths significantly suppressed on substrate. Moreover, during plating, lithiated Pt atoms dissolve into phase, leaving lot microsized holes During although sodiated cannot sodiation elevates many blocks above current collector. Either or voids Pt–Cu what extra place deposited alkali metal, effectively relaxes internal stress caused volume exchange plating/stripping. Therefore, symmetric Li@Pt–Cu Na@Pt–Cu have achieved long-term cycling stability even at ultrahigh areal capacity 20 mAh cm?2.

Pipe-Wire TiO2-Sn@Carbon Nanofibers Paper Anodes for Lithium and Sodium Ion Batteries.

Metallic tin has been considered as one of the most promising anode materials both for lithium (LIBs) and sodium ion battery (NIBs) because of a high theoretical capacity and an appropriate low discharge potential. However, Sn anodes suffer from a rapid capacity fading during cycling due to pulverization induced by severe volume changes. Here we innovatively synthesized pipe-wire TiO2-Sn@carbon...

From lithium to sodium: cell chemistry of room temperature sodium–air and sodium–sulfur batteries

Research devoted to room temperature lithium-sulfur (Li/S8) and lithium-oxygen (Li/O2) batteries has significantly increased over the past ten years. The race to develop such cell systems is mainly motivated by the very high theoretical energy density and the abundance of sulfur and oxygen. The cell chemistry, however, is complex, and progress toward practical device development remains hampere...

Advanced Micro/Nanostructures for Lithium Metal Anodes

Owning to their very high theoretical capacity, lithium metal anodes are expected to fuel the extensive practical applications in portable electronics and electric vehicles. However, unstable solid electrolyte interphase and lithium dendrite growth during lithium plating/stripping induce poor safety, low Coulombic efficiency, and short span life of lithium metal batteries. Lately, varies of mic...
